The territory

Palmanova

Recognized for being the only star-shaped city with 9 tips, Palmanova is surrounded by moats and walls for 7 kilometers; six streets converge towards the center of the town, a hexagonal square which makes the entire city geometrically perfect. Palmanova was founded on October 7, 1593, the day of Santa Giustina, patron of the new city, and the anniversary of the victory of Lepanto against the Turks on October 7, 1571.
